Following last week's successful pilot sailing, HD Ferries is pleased to announce new direct services from Guernsey to St. Malo commencing on April 18th. The new service will operate on Fridays until June 13th, and on both Fridays and Mondays from June 16th. The existing services via Jersey will also continue providing Guernsey customers with a second sailing on those days. To celebrate the launch of this new service HD Ferries is offering an introductory fare of £88 subject to availability on bookings made on or before April 30th 2008. As well as offering travellers to and from Guernsey the benefit of direct services to St. Malo, the new services will free up additional capacity between Jersey and St. Malo to meet the growing demand for low-cost ferry travel to and from Jersey. HD Ferries plans to focus on services to St. Malo in 2008 and explore opportunities to serve Cherbourg in 2009. Customers booked to travel to Cherbourg have been contacted to offer alternative arrangements. Commenting on the new services, HD Ferries CEO Chris Howe-Davies said: "We are launching direct services between Guernsey and St. Malo to meet the growing demand for low cost ferry travel. This exciting development underlines our belief that by reducing the cost of ferry travel, more people can travel more often and thus increase the prosperity of the communities we serve."
