The delay in securing a critical part coupled with complications arising from the worsening weather situation has delayed completion of the maintenance and safety programme essential to enable us to resume services. In spite of the immense efforts of everyone, both at HD Ferries and by our business partners, the obstacles have simply been too great to feel confident that we can operate a safe and reliable schedule as planned. Consequently, we have cancelled all sailings over Easter. Which services are affected? All sailings on Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th March What options are being offered to customers? Customers due to travel on cancelled service are being offered: 1. A full refund 2. A free ticket to travel on equivalent HD Ferries services later in 2008, subject to availability. When will services now begin? Services will resume Friday 28th March. Please note this has always been our next scheduled sailing after Easter Monday as we have a 4 day per week service during March. Where can customers obtain further information? We are now notifying and refunding all affected customers via email and we recommend they check their mailbox in the first instance. Customers can also contact our contact centre: mail@hdferries.com or 0844 745 1801 The latest information will be published on the HD Ferries web site at the following link: www.hdferries.co.uk/travelnews.asp Commenting on these events, Chris Howe-Davies, CEO of HD Ferries says: "In the end the delay in securing a critical part coupled the worsening weather situation has prevented us from completing our maintenance and safety programme. Rather than set unrealistic expectations about when we may be able to run services we felt it best to let customers know now to allow time to explore alternatives. We apologise to all our valued customers for the inconvenience this will inevitably cause."
